AFAICT it runs a little slower? but it's fixed point, and has much better understood audio characteristics.

Installing SpeexDSP is as easy as:

% ./configure [--prefix=<install-path>]
|
|
% make
|
|
% make install
|
|
|
|
Note that if you are using the code from git you will need to run "autogen.sh"
|
|
and then "configure".
